Born and Raised in Saint Lucia, living in Essex, J Lucia is a versatile poet and afroswing/dancehall artist. His musical and lyrical influences derive from reggae, soca and most importantly poetry. He infuses his island roots and UK influence in his music, and this culminates into a unique and fresh sound.

Percussion was his first love – He loved the vibe and energy from the beating drums and dancing in the streets. At the age of 9 he began writing poetry.

After moving to live with his mother in England everything changed. He attended a school in east London in a bad area, and it was there he learned the essence of grime culture and UK music. It was through listening to this music that he developed a British accent and it wasn’t long before he would start performing spoken word all over London.

In 2018 a TV opportunity arose in The Rap Game UK – an experience of a lifetime that J Lucia was able to learn and grow. With its highs and lows, he received a crash course in entering the music industry.

Now 24, J Lucia has accomplished so many things, while understanding that his work has only just began. His drive and passion for success fuel him in his journey. Greatness is on its way, and he has every intention to leave his mark on the scene. Be ready. It’s his turn
